When UFA celebrates its centennial in 2009, I believe our co-operative will be even stronger than it is today.

Our Network
Strong partnerships help guide us into the future. To fulfill our goal of creating value for all UFA member-owners and serving rural markets, UFA has developed strategic relationships with companies that provide a unique, yet complementary, service offering to our own. Bar-W Petroleum and Electric was acquired early in 2007. Bar-W is a leading provider of electrical systems and solutions for commercial and industrial projects. The Bar-W offering complements UFA Construction and provides a focus on leading-edge technology and innovative solutions. Bar-W will continue to operate as a division of UFA and will keep its name and brand. Spruceland Lumber Limited was acquired late in 2007. Spruceland is a single-site operation that sells building supplies and general merchandise in Fort McMurray. The business aligns with our strength in building supplies, and enables UFA to enter a new market. Spruceland has strong relationships with building contractors in an area where UFA can learn from and develop. Spruceland is currently operating as a division of UFA. UFA and Spruceland also share a strong commitment to the community they serve and their employees. All 50 Spruceland employees and management were retained in the acquisition and are dedicated to serving the rural market in northern Alberta. |
