UFA Co-operative Limited announces new board of directors

Calgary, March 20—UFA Co-operative Limited is pleased to announce the members of its newly expanded board of directors.

The following directors were elected at this year’s annual general meeting:
  • Tim Bancroft, Calgary
  • Bill Dobson, Paradise Valley
  • Wayne Latam, Ardrossan
  • Jim Laverick, Calgary
  • Bill Lee, Camp Creek
  • Barry Webster, Mountain View
The other board directors are:
  • Debbie Adolphson, Valleyview
  • Michael Kueber, Killam
  • Elgar Newsham, Innisfail
  • Clarence Olthuis, Neerlandia
  • Cornie Teichroeb, LaCrete
  • Duane Glimsdale, Claresholm
In July 2007, the board decided to grow the number of directors to 12 from nine. The goal was to strengthen the board and governance of the co-operative with additional people and specialized expertise.

The board also elected a new executive committee:
  • Clarence Olthuis, chairman
  • Bill Dobson, first vice-chairman
  • Cornie Teichroeb, second vice-chairman
UFA’s commitment to improve governance for owners has advanced with the addition of directors with specialized expertise,” says Clarence Olthuis, chairman of UFA’s board of directors. “We’ll continue working with management to serve our core agricultural customer and expand UFA’s horizons beyond our traditional business.”
